New Lut Update – PictureFX Leica M8 Camera Black and White

After starting with a base PNG Lut and by utilizing an original Adobe Leica M8 profile, combined with a Kodak Tri X film simulation, I generated a new Lut that closely resembles the initial output of the Leica M8 camera. the PNG file was later transformed into Cube format. The objective was to achieve maximum similarity to the original results. To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to begin with a Raw neutral file in RawTherapee (without the embedded camera profile). You can access the necessary “processing profiles” by clicking on the dropbox located at the upper right corner. Alternatively, you can work with JPG files, but it requires making essential adjustments to exposure settings like contrast, saturation, and more – try to obtain a “muted” output.

If RawTherapee isn’t your preferred tool, and you prefer using Darktable, I suggest checking out Mark G. Adams’ website called “One Camera One Lens“. Although I’m not an expert in Darktable myself, Mark offers a range of tutorials that provide clear and understandable instructions on how to use Darktable effectively.
