May 2022
What does my camera equipment look like now :

  • Two Fujifilm X-H1 -> my two main cameras
  • An X-T20 -> it was no longer used in 2021, so what to do with it ? – sold
  • An X-T1 -> used in 2021 for some events where a smaller camera with interchangeable lenses was needed, otherwise it was sometimes used with (vintage) manual lenses – here I miss image stabilization, so what to do with this camera ? – keep
  • Fujifilm X100 Original -> more used in 2021 but not much, so what in 2022 ? – keep
  • Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark I -> used but forgotten in recent months, – sell
  • Olympus Tough TG-Tracker -> action camera, intended to use more in 2020
  • Olympus Tough TG-6 -> new action camera, purchased in 2021 to use during Bushcraft for stills and film – sold – bought an Olympus TG-3
  • Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II -> purchased second-hand December 2021, equipped with Olympus 14-42mm pancake, purchased a Laowa 10mm, an Olympus 14-150mm and a Panasonic 100-300mm. This gives me a range of 20 to 600mm in 35mm equivalent with the Oly. – bought a second EM5MKII
  • new : Olympus EM10MKII + second Olympus 14-150mm

Mirrorless camera total : 6 + 3 compact cameras

Fujifilm X-H1 My Main Camera as of june 2021

Fujifilm X100

When I first saw it it was love at first sight, but then came the disappointment. Years passed before I really started to appreciate it. Now it shines at special occasions, or when I need a stealth camera, and it’s my perfect all-round “Go To” camera.
Camera Category : Street – Events – Family

New : Olympus E-M10 MKII

Fujifilm X-T1

The X-T1 was the Tojan Horse I think, no bad intentions though,
but for the first time a Fuji camera was more than what I bought it for in the first place, and that was to use it with manual lenses.
It made me re-think everything.
Camera Category : It’s a Work Horse, Back Up, Die Hard Action Camera – However, I use it mainly for manual photography with Zuiko lenses.

2x Olympus OM D E M5 Mark II

Yes, an Olympus, surprisingly ?
Well, recently purchased and immediately promoted as my 2nd manual camera for vintage lenses.
16MP and 5 axis image stabilization
40MP High Res. Shot
It is especially the image stabilization that makes the camera interesting for manual photography – this stabilizes every old lens from the analog era – a big plus ! In addition, it has adjustable magnification up to X14 and it is a very small camera, smaller than the X-T1 !

2x Fujifilm X-H1 – Main Camera and Backup

The camera that changed everything.
The camera that made me say goodbye to my beloved Pentax K-3, and all my other Pentax gear.
The camera that is the perfect bridge between DSLR and Mirrorless.
It has brought my photography back to life. So I bought two 🙂

Before june 2021

If you have read some articles from me, it will be clear by now i have become a Fujifilm X camera and Olympus OM Zuiko lens fan, however, most of my photographic life I have worked with Pentax and Pentax lenses, and even today my 6 to 7y. old Pentax K3 Dslr is still one of my main cameras. An Optical Viewfinder and In Camera Image Stabilization are still major assets compared to the advantages of many mirrorless cameras.
A camera comparison of the 5y younger Fuji X-T30 at makes that painfully clear.

That said, shooting manually with a Fujifilm X camera also has its advantages.
The weight difference of almost half a kilo, compactness,
focus peaking with image magnification and the typical Fujifilm “out of camera” image quality, just to name a few.
