The legendary Fujifilm Film Simulations – Astia, Provia, Velvia and Classic Chrome – Who doesn’t know them ?
The first one I made was the Provia, here the article about it with the Haldclut version: The first I PictureFX Fujifilm Provia – a brand new Lut !
After that the Classic Chrome in Haldclut version here : It’s Here, the new PictureFX Fujifilm Classic Chrome
And now also in .cube format, compatible with various image editors such as Adobe CS6 and up, Luminar etc.
Astia Provia Velvia Classic Chrome
Be sure to read the two previously mentioned articles about these film simulations.
Also keep in mind that a certain exposure compensation may be necessary, and that it may be different for each of the film simulations.
You can find more 3D LUT – Cube format film simulations in the “Film Simulation” menu page : PictureFX 3D LUT – Cube
For people that are so lucky of actualy owning a Fujifilm camera, “after editing” can be less important as they can use film simulations straight out of camera in the form of Film Simulation Recipes, for those people and for who wanted to know more aboute it, click below to find everything you ever wanted to know about – and a lot of great recipes :
I’ll get this shared right away. Your work will also be featured in a larger blog I’m writing on Darktable resources. Fantastic stuff Marc!

Sorry for the late response Mark,
sick all day long in bed.
Thanks, you are much to kind Mark.
There are many more to come, I still have a lot of regular Haldcluts that need to be converted to cube – and I am already playing with new ideas for new Luts, including Cube film simulations.
One of them is Fujifilm Superia 200, and the 400 version of which is said to have served as the model for the latest Fuji simulation Nostalgic Negative – and I also have other ideas for the future.
But in between of course sometimes an article not about film simulation 🙂
Again many thanks, and a very nice weekend !

Just a note, and I don’t mean to be pedantic, but I think nostalgic negative wasnt modeled on a specific film stock. Fuji describes it as inspired by the works of photographers in the late 1950s through early 70s , such as William Eggleston, Stephen shore, and others grouped under the vague label “new American color”.
I don’t have a Fuji camera with it, but from what photos I have seen, it has somewhat soft contrast, a warm color balance, modest saturation though amber and red colors tend to pop a bit. I’d say it kind of vaguely resembles kodak gold. I think it’s one of the better film sims they have made!
