a Fujifilm X-T1 with Fujinon XF 27mm f2.8 in 2020 ?

At time of writing, the lowest price asked for a second-hand Fuji X-T1 is around € 300 – (€100 is about £89, so €300 is £267)
For a second-hand Fujinon XF 27mm f2.8 it is also around € 300
Suppose you can get a bargain, a Fuji X-T1 with Fujinon 27mm f2.8 at € 400 all together.
Suppose you are a beginner, or want to try out Fujifilm, looking for a good backup camera and/or your first prime lens …

I don’t meet any of those requirements, however, I already have some Fuji cameras, but I actually want a larger viewfinder.
I use my Fujis with vintage lenses and also have some Meike, 7Artisans and Samyang lenses, but I don’t have any Fuji prime.
What would you do ?

I’ll say what I did – I made a bargain 🙂
Admittedly it is a 6 year old camera, only 16MP,
and it has been replaced 4 times, today there is the Fujifilm X-T4 and maybe even an X-T5 next year? But do I need another 24MP camera ? I also have the X-T20 and my trusty Pentax K3 which both have 24mp. Only recently I did a test on CameraDecision, and compared my old original Pentax K3 with a Fujifilm X-T2, the result was: “Pentax K-3 has a higher Overall Score than the Fujifilm X-T2 and would be our choice if we have to decide between these two cameras. “
Surprising, isn’t it?

Google is your best friend, they say, and if you Google an X-T1, you will find countless YouTube videos, blogs and reviews that recommend this camera every year.
Some claim that the X-T1’s colors have never been matched.
Is the X-T1 indeed the great camera that many claim? It does have a larger viewfinder, the same as in the Fuji X-T2 (from € 650 second-hand), also as the Fuji X-T3 (from € 1300 new), but that viewfinder has more pixels, however the price differences are enormous. And then there is the Fujinon XF 27mm f2.8, a pancake lens, it makes a tight combination with any Fujifilm anyway.
When I wrote this, the camera and lens are on its way to me.
I’ll give myself to the end of December/beginning of February to test it out completely, and then I’ll write down my experiences with this camera (and lens).
Anyway, this is a win-win situation for me, I have two new toys to play with – and they are both bargains 🙂

I’ll see you in the sequel to this ?
